Waylon understands farm insurance because he’s a farmer.

I grew up in Cumberland, Iowa, a farming area in Cass County. My career has been entirely in crop insurance, starting after college. I wanted to work in a field related to agriculture that would benefit farmers and the agricultural community.

For the last 24 years, I have worked in agriculture, from crop insurance to precision farming. I began my career as an insurance agent in Iowa and Missouri with Farm Bureau immediately after college, wanting to remain connected to the farming community.

Farming is more than a job for me; it’s a lifestyle. I run our family farm in Southwest Iowa with my father and brother. Our farm is important to us, representing our family’s heritage and marking 150 years as an Iowa Heritage Farm.
