Susan understands farm and ranch insurance because she’s a farmer.

I live near Bloomfield, Iowa, right in the heart of southeast Iowa. Ever since I got my degree in General Ag/Ag Econ from NMSU in Kirksville, MO, I’ve been deep into agriculture. For 13 years, I worked at the local Farm Service Agency. But for the last 30 years, my husband and I have been farming together. I’ve also been involved with the local Farm Bureau board for nearly 25 years and right now, I’m the President.

I started dealing with crop insurance after our old crop insurance agent retired, and I took over his agency. Outside of work, I love farming, gardening, quilting, and spending time with my grandkids. It’s been a fulfilling journey, filled with lots of hard work and community involvement.
