I live in Mt Pleasant, Texas with my wife, Adina, who is a school teacher. We have three children and two grandchildren. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Agricultural Economics and spent 33 years in banking specializing as an Ag Loan Officer. After leaving banking I got my insurance license. I handled fair and event insurance before becoming a crop insurance agent in 2018. I enjoy being a crop insurance agent because I understand the risks that ag producers deal with and the need for products and coverages to mitigate their risks to be successful.

I have always been involved in ag going back to my childhood days when my parents had a small herd of registered Polled Hereford cattle. I was involved in FFA and showing livestock in high school and was awarded a 4-year scholarship from the Houston Livestock Show to further my education at Texas A&M. My interest in showing cattle continued with my kids and they were all very active in FFA and showed Angus and Limousin cattle at the local, state, and national level over 17 years along with market steers and hogs.

I am President of the Titus County Fair Association and two-time past President of the Texas Association of Fairs and Events. My hobbies include taking care of a small cow/calf/freezer beef herd, raising blue heeler cattle dogs, and working with show cattle.
