DON MOODY
Regional Director
Don understands farm and ranch insurance because he’s a farmer.
Originally from Kremmling, Colorado, I spent my formative years in the northern sandhills of Nebraska before my family and I settled in central Iowa, which we now call home. For over two decades, my career has been centered on Crop and Livestock Insurance, allowing me to support Ranchers and Farmers across more than 30 states. Before venturing into crop insurance, I founded two insurance agencies from the ground up, managed our family farm, and owned a trucking company.
My wife, Lisa, and I have 3 daughters, 2 dogs and 4 geese.

I grew up on a farm with crops and livestock, starting with caring for chickens at age 4. By 10, I was managing irrigation for 320 acres of corn, earning a new bike. My teenage years involved more complex tasks like driving a truck for silage. Our farm had a mix of cattle operations and occasionally, sheep. In high school, I was passionate about FFA and returned to work on the farm after college.

When I’m not assisting agents, farmers, and ranchers with risk management, I enjoy spending time with my family. Our activities include hunting, fishing, exploring unique dining spots, and hunting for antiques at garage sales. We also engage in raising a small herd of cattle and maintaining several bee colonies, marking our official hobbies as Beef and Bees.
I’m also dedicated to serving my community as a District Coordinator for Chichaqua Ducks Unlimited, Vice President for the Central Iowa Beekeepers, and President of our local township library board.
